150 April 2020
It's the 150th Super, Sparkling, Soaraway edition of VW Camper and Commercial!
Everyone's favourite Aircooled VW magazine is celebrating eighteen years of honouring the VW Bus in all its forms. In that time, the humble Campervan has changed from a very niche, old bus driven by old chaps in anoraks, to a contemporary cultural icon. The magazine itself illustrates the fact that there is still a place in the market for an actual, printed, glossy monthly.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years!
We have a veritable cornucopia of buses for you this month, from a lovely '61 walkthrough Samba which appears to be totally stock, but hides a fuel injected 2275cc monster to a '63 Split, now running lowered and narrowed.
Bay lovers will enjoy a dented, dinged, battered but very much loved former Microbus. Whilst T3 aficionado's can check out a turbocharged syncro which oddly, started life as a base panel-van.
In the watercooled corner, the owner of a mildly modified T5 is so taken with his new lifestyle, he’s thinking of buying his own campsite!
Finally, the Jack Daniel's bus is unlike anything else anyone has ever seen. It's a curious, shortened bay panel with the back end of a split pickup grafted on, so maybe it's a Trika? Take a look inside that big cab area and you’ll understand immediately.
The rainy, stormy season is officially over and summer starts here!
