VW Camper 142 August 2019
Feature buses this month include a lovely 1967 Deluxe Microbus that's had the same owner since 2000. The second T1, also of 1967 vintage, was originally a Kombi imported to be used as a spares bus to restore another. By the time the current owner acquired it, it was little more than a shell, which he restored on his driveway. The 1976 South African built Jurgens is a lovely original condition example; it even has the full china crockery set sporting the Jurgens crest.
But for something that that is totally original and untouched, check out the 1988 syncro Panel Van (a rare combination in itself). Its new owner originally bought it to convert, but seeing the pristine condition changed his mind and took it to Stanford Hall where it easily won its Concours Class, where originality is king.
Also this issue we start a three-part travel adventure exploring the Baltic States of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in a T3. Empty beaches, amazing historic buildings, wild camping, friendly people and great food and somewhere still off the beaten track for many tourists.
