VW Camper & Commercial 139

Custom styling is a recurrent theme across our features buses this month, from combining classic stock looks and subtle modern upgrades to something a bit more radical, as in our T5 Swamper. Lovers of preserving an original unrestored look will simply adore our 1962 Microbus with a stance to scare any ground-hugging weed, coupled with original paint and patina. This was originally used as a shuttle bus by Cactus Jack’s Casino in Nevada and the sun-bleached signwriting is still just visible. A Montana Red and Cloud White 1969 Microbus combining classic stock looks, period custom styling and upgraded engine and running gear just oozes with charm and character, as does the Sulphur Yellow and Candy White ’67 Australian Kombi and a 71 former Danbury now resplendent in Kawasaki Green and Ford Frozen White and fitted with a modern interior. A more subtle route is taken with an Autohomes T3 Kamper pop top with given a South African style facelift, Westy roof, Nightfire Red metallic repaint, and a modern interior.

Also this month we join the UK cruise to Ninove, meander through Devon and Cornwall in a Bay and visit a very wet and windy OCTO, as well as checking out the lively Wolfsburg Bus Crew Club and how to rustproof the underside of your bus.
