In the magazine this month we have our regular six feature buses, all chosen from
the broad tapestry that is VW life. Two T4s, one a former Caravelle and now a
Camper, the other a former short-nosed ‘Window bus’ plying its trade at the airport,
now a long-nosed big bed Camper. Two T5s, one a white former panel van, now a
modded Kombi Camper. The other was a panel van and surprise, surprise it still is,
albeit kitted out for some detailing action. There is a T6 also a former Panel van, but
now a full-on family fun bus. All of which leads to our final feature, this hasn’t
changed much since it left the factory, well the second factory anyway… VW Built it
as a single-cab bare chassis. Knaus then took it on and turned it into a very rare for
this country (it’s the only one we know of), high-end coachbuilt camper, it is a
stunner!
Elsewhere in the magazine we’ve been to Hannover for the VW Bus Festival,
Scotland for Volksfling, and Cornwall for Run To The Sun. Jamie and Lucy are
visiting France for the first time in their T4, Kelly is collecting Mountains and
Wainrights in the Lake District and Mark and Nicky are off to Boscastle.
