VWBus T4&5+ Issue 83 (issue: Issue 83)
Issue 83
Sunset Spectacular
In some ways this issue could be called the Andrew Thompson sunset edition.
This month we have three T4s all shot by freelancer Andrew Thompson at around
the time that the sun goes down and we couldn’t resist putting them all in one issue.
The three T4s comprise Mike Rachelles example in Tornado red, Ant Leach’s in
Friesan green and Shane Phillips’ in Magnetic grey. They’re all campers, all self-built
and all entirely different. We didn’t want to upset our other regular freelancers, so
we’ve included a Simon Cooke shoot of Kevin Davies’ Reflex silver T5 with a wild
Tiki themed interior, a Steve Edwards shoot of Graham Smith, from Camper
Revampers, Olympian blue T5. It’s his own van but it has been influenced by his
customers’ input and an Anne Rogers shoot of Roger Burville’s Candy white, mid-
high top, LWB T5, big inside, but not as big as his old LT.
Away from the features, Simon has been busy; he went to Busfest and Dubs In The
Valley, before dropping in on Transporter HQ for a shop tour. Harriet and Dan
continue their tour of Australia in their self-built T5 camper; this month the intrepid
duo are in Karijini Park checking out the gorgeous gorges. Closer to home, Brenda
Laurenson and her husband, Gordon, take their twelve-year old T5 from their
Shetland home to the Jura music festival, via several ferries and a few distilleries.
There is way more between the covers that I’d like to tell you about, including
something from Oli Grogan of Stitches + Steel and Michael Dunn discussing how he
has developed his TSI T6. But to find that out you’ll just have to get a copy from your
newsagent, order a copy from the website (www.vwbusmagazine.com), or get a
digital copy from Zinio (www.zinio.com).
