Issue 81

New Year New Issue

The New Year brings with it a new issue with six new feature buses. They are,
in the order they appear in the magazine: Shaun O’Keeffe’s Reflex silver T6, a van
he bought for work that is now an “Unintentional Camper”. Then there’s Simon
Perry’s yellow T4, a bus that he has honed and refined to suit his family’s changing
needs. Next up, Graham Radnedge of Camper Versions grey T5 a van with hidden
talents that become obvious once you step inside. Our fourth feature bus is Andi
Harlow’s dual toned number, the culmination of a “life long dream”. This is followed
by Jay Garfield of Xtreme Van’s stunning take on a midnight black T5 Kombi,
complete with HiLo roof. The final feature bus is another of the growing number of
Crafters on the scene, this one belongs to Stuart Lee of AMA Transporters, he built it
for his growing family. VW Bus T4&5+ isn’t only about feature vans though, hence
the +… We are also dedicated to bringing you the stories of what people do in and
with their buses. To that end, we sent Steve to Tatton Park to report on the popular
one-day show. He also went to visit Bill Blackmore Trailers in Market Rasen. If you’re
not familiar with the name, Bill is the man behind those amazing fibre-glass T5
replica trailers. Simon went to Southsea for a new show, or is it an old show? Beach
Buggin is dead, long live Beach Dubbin, Simon gives us the lowdown on the new/old
show. Newcomers, Mark and Nicky Green, rented a T5 and headed to Scotland,
normally they are boat dwellers, the reason for their trip was to research a possible
change in their lifestyle, they tell us how it went. Harriet and Dan continue their
Australian trip, they are heading up the west coast from Perth to the Ningaloo reef
and the photographs are stunning! This month you have your last chance to vote for
your Bus Of The Year then turn to page 42, of course you’ll need to buy a copy first
to find out how. And in that copy, you’ll find out what happened in Autoholic’s
Kitchen, where David went, and Alan’s predictions for next year in Old Al’s Almanac.
As well as all the latest news and new products, then there’s the Readers Rides and
well, you’d best just get a copy to find out what’s in there…
