98th issue

Do we even need age ranges any more? As wellness culture dominates, as luxury brands redefine what we wear – and as we deeply feel life is too short, post-pandemic – generational differences feel less and less relevant. Since we relaunched Q-P last year, we reflected deeply on this topic. And with this 5th issue, I can say we have managed to lift-off from the aging timeline, too. Inside this edition, Q-P rolls cross-generationally. In our cover story, we give a “cool Dad” makeover to the 60-year-old cult favourite from TAG Heuer, the Carrera. The brand was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer when he was 20 years old, Jack Heuer launched the Carrera watch when he was 31, and now a 28-year-old boss, Frédéric Arnault runs his company. Ambition never gets old. Elsewhere, we take a look at the new materials in high watchmaking – like a race amongst the watchmaking brands to be forever young – and dive into their scientific makeup; we put classic cars in the same box with the latest fashion accessories; and we speak with Catherine Rénier, the CEO of JLC, and dream of a future with more major brands led by women. Continuing our science experiments, we have also evolved the DNA of Q-P itself. Our visual and verbal language has been redesigned. And our emphasis: from now on, you can expect more jewellery in these pages. This is our grounding: watches and jewellery, through the lens of art and design. These interests, after all, relate to men and women: old souls and the young at heart. And what better season than spring to ring in the new?
